Taste for Renewal

Taste for Renewal (The Structural Profile of Organization as a Predictor of Its Readiness to Generate and Adopt Innovations)

Nowadays, innovations are for organization not only a fashion to follow or an evidence of its competence but an acute need. It is just them that largely determine the market competitiveness and, ultimately, commercial success and the achievement of high results. And therefore, no wonder that the policy directed at the increasing of innovation capability keeps in the focus of research interest. However the outcomes an organization can reckon on depend not only on rightly chosen strategy or capable management of current activity. Not less important is the organizational receptivity to innovations, the readiness to generate and adopt novelties. When it is low the issues scarcely will be satisficing, however great the creativeness of those performing the tasks may be and whatever reasonable rules and guides they may stick to. For, the results are substantially foreordained by the established patterns and configurations the activity has to tie in with. The framework of interconnections between people, on one hand, and of their interplay with tasks being performed, on the other, what may be named the structural profile of organization, serve as a key factor of innovative potential. But it is just what slips the attention of researchers most of all.

Keywords: innovation, organization, receptivity, structural profile, generation, adoption.
